Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 dependant on experience

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Landfill Gas Manager to lead a team responsible for monitoring, balancing and operating gas collection systems and associated control and utilisation equipment to optimise and maximise landfill gas yields for power generation and regulatory compliance in line with Environment Permits and the Company’s Gas Management Plan.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure adherence to best practise and operational standards, and to optimise the LFG resource through the use of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- To ensure that all in house and externally contracted landfill gas monitoring is undertaken in a timely manner in line with regulatory requirements, operational procedures and management plans, and contingency action plans.
- To ensure the implementation of operational procedures, processes and action plans so that risks (cost, regulatory compliance, and environmental harm) and performance management issues associated with LFG are known and managed.
- To implement the delivery of strategic, tactical and asset management plans for LFG collection systems to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Responsible for undertaking forecasts of LFG yields for power generation, and financial forecasts of P&L spend to feed into budget processes, financial forecasting, and reporting (such as Pollution Inventory).
- To be responsible for the identification and provision of management information on required upgrades and expansion of existing systems so that gas collection systems are delivered in a timely manner at each site in the region.
- To act as ‘Client’ for all major maintenance and Capital projects on gas collection systems. This will include, but not be limited to: the timely production of Client Briefs and other requests for engineering and maintenance services; the production of business cases for engineering and maintenance services; defining Client requirements for gas collection systems in the long term to inform Asset Plans (including ‘Life of Site’ capex models and Landfill Aftercare models).
- To work closely with colleagues in the Landfill Energy business (in particular the Leachate Manager) to optimise the management of leachate from operational and closed landfill sites to minimise costs and enhance LFG production and site sustainability.
- To manage a call out rota to provide cover for work that is required at the weekends, and outside of normal working hours
