Solar & Battery Storage

At Valencia Energy, we are progressing with the design, installation and delivery of a significant pipeline of Solar and Battery Storage (BESS) projects across a portfolio of sites, mainly owned by our landfill operator Valencia Waste Management Limited. There are several other projects in the planning stage on other third party land owners. 

We have planning permission for a 5MWp solar park at our Broadpath location with construction is expected to commence in Q1 2024. We are also in the planning stages for several other sites. Project commencement for these sites is expected Q1 2025, leading the way for the remaining site portfolio development.

To maximise the benefits of renewable energy, Valencia is also exploring the use of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as standalone and LFG/Solar/BESS combinations. Through feasibility studies and trials, we plan to enable the storage of excess energy and export to the electricity grid at peak demand, providing grid balancing when required.
